Garuda Indonesia's Kartini Flight features all-female pilots, cabin crew, ground crew

Garuda Indonesia held a special Kartini Flight to celebrate Kartini Day on April 21.
The GA 204 Kartini Flight that departed from Jakarta to Yogyakarta featured pilots, cabin crew and ground crew who were all female employees of Garuda Indonesia. Among them were captain Ida Fiqriah, who is the carrier’s first ever female pilot, co-pilot Melinda, flight service manager Evi Soenarjono and aircraft release engineers Pita Hadi Sriwahyuni and Dessy Purnamasari.
According to a press release, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti was among the passengers on the flight, alongside two of the national flag carrier’s female executives, General and Human Resources director Sari Suharso and Domestic Marketing director Nina Sulistyowati, as well as several other senior managers of state-owned enterprises.
“Garuda Indonesia deserves praise for arranging this special flight. The involvement of female pilots, cabin crew and ground crew is proof that women can work amid technological advancements and career dynamic challenges,” said Susi prior to takeoff.
Nina said the company expects to make the Kartini Flight an annual event, which celebrates RA Kartini, a national hero and a source of inspiration for Indonesian women.
The company has over 4,500 female employees, from ground crew, aircraft technicians to co-pilot and captains. Twenty-nine of the airline’s pilots are women.
To celebrate Kartini Day, Garuda Indonesia is offering a series of promotions for female customers, including up to a 21 percent discount on tickets, a 2,100 air miles bonus and free access to Garuda lounges in Jakarta, Medan and Balikpapan throughout April. (kes)

Penerbangan GA 204 Kartini yang berangkat dari Jakarta ke Yogyakarta menampilkan pilot, awak kabin dan awak darat yang semuanya adalah karyawan perempuan Garuda Indonesia. Teacher charged with child abuse for slapping students

A vocational school teacher in Purwokerto, Banyumas, Central Java, is facing child abuse charges after a video of him slapping nine of his students went viral online.
In the video, Lukman Septiadi, 27, is shown stroking a student’s cheek before slapping him. 
Banyumas Police have named Lukman a suspect in the case, charging him with child abuse as stipulated under Article 80 of the 2002 Child Protection law. The article carries a maximum punishment of 3.5 years in prison.
The students reportedly suffered injuries to their jaw and complained to have experienced perpetual headaches.
“Two of the victims have been sent to the hospital and are receiving treatment,” Banyumas Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Bambang Yudhantara Salamun said as quoted by kompas.com.

The police questioned Lukman on Thursday night, hours after journalists and angry parents arrived at his school.
Before going to the Banyumas Police office, Lukman uploaded a video of him justifying his actions in the presence of the students he assaulted.
“Yes, it was me. I hit them, and all the victims are here,” he said, asking the person recording the video to show the face of each of the victims.
“I know. I understand. I did this with a purpose. I didn’t do it [for nothing]. I didn’t do it without a purpose,” he said in the video.
In his statement to the police, Lukman claimed that he hit the nine students because they were out of line and frequently skipped school. (ahw)

Guru dituduh dengan pelecehan anak dengan menampar siswa

Seorang guru sekolah kejuruan di Purwokerto, Banyumas, Jawa Tengah, menghadapi tuduhan pelecehan anak setelah video dirinya menampar sembilan muridnya menjadi viral online.
Dalam video tersebut, Lukman Septiadi, 27, ditampilkan membelai pipi seorang siswa sebelum menamparnya.
Polisi Banyumas telah menyebut Lukman sebagai tersangka dalam kasus tersebut, menuntutnya dengan kekerasan anak seperti yang diatur dalam Pasal 80 UU Perlindungan Anak tahun 2002. Artikel itu membawa hukuman maksimal 3,5 tahun penjara.
Para siswa dilaporkan menderita luka pada rahang mereka dan mengeluh telah mengalami sakit kepala kronis.
“Dua dari korban telah dikirim ke rumah sakit dan menerima perawatan,” kata Kapolsek Banyumas Adj. Komisaris Sr. Salamun Bambang Yudhantara mengatakan seperti yang dikutip oleh kompas.com.

Sebelum pergi ke kantor Polisi Banyumas, Lukman mengunggah video dirinya yang membenarkan tindakannya di hadapan para siswa yang diserang.
“Ya, itu aku. Saya memukul mereka, dan semua korban ada di sini, ”katanya, meminta orang yang merekam video itu untuk menunjukkan wajah masing-masing korban.
"Aku tahu. Saya mengerti. Saya melakukan ini dengan suatu tujuan. Saya tidak melakukannya  tanpa tujuan, ”katanya dalam video.
Dalam pernyataannya kepada polisi, Lukman mengklaim bahwa ia memukul sembilan siswa karena mereka keluar dari barisan dan sering melompati sekolah. (ahw)

Polisi meragukan pria yang menuduh Sukmawati telah melakukan penodaan agama.

Sukmawati membacakan puisi itu selama acara fashion yang diadakan untuk merayakan ulang tahun karir desainer Anne Avantie yang ke 29 selama Pekan Mode Indonesia (IFW) di Jakarta pada 29 Maret.

Denny mengatakan penyelidik juga bertanya tentang kesaksian kepada hadirin ketika puisi itu dibacakan.

“Kami melihat ada [artis] Titiek Puspa, Menteri Kelautan dan Perikanan Susi Pudjiastuti, dan beberapa selebritis lainnya [yang hadir di acara tersebut].”

Denny mengatakan, bukti kejahatan itu adalah rekaman video viral dari Sukmawati yang membacakan puisi itu, yang dikirimkan oleh panitia acara tersebut ke internet.

Pada Jumat siang, ratusan demonstran menggelar unjuk rasa menentang Sukmawati di Jakarta Pusat. Juru bicara Polisi Jakarta Komandan Senior Argo Yuwono mengatakan bahwa pasukan gabungan hingga 6.500 personil militer dan polisi telah ditempatkan di masjid Istiqlal untuk memastikan keamanan selama demonstrasi.

Offshore airport in northern Bali not urgent: Minister

The central government will not prioritize the development of an offshore airport in northern Bali as proposed by the local government, saying that such a project was not urgent, according to Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi.

He stressed, however, that the central government was prepared to develop a second runway at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in the southern part of the resort island.

“We prefer to empower the existing I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport,” Budi said in Jakarta on Sunday as reported kompas.com.

Previously, he said that the ministry was carrying out a study on the proposal made by the Bali administration through PT Pandara International Bali Utara (BIBU) Panji Sakti, which has received support from a Canadian investor.

BIBU president director I Made Mangku said the company preferred to develop an offshore airport because the initial plan of an onshore airport would have sacrificed 33 Hindu temples, 121 historical sites, roads, residences and productive rice fields.

Made further explained that Bali Governor Mangku Pastika had prohibited the use of productive land, Hindu temples or historical sites for the development of a new airport. (bbn)

IMF boss not visiting to offer loans, finance minister says

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has said the visit of International Monetary Fund (IMF) managing director Christine Lagarde to Indonesia was not to offer loans, but to prepare for the IMF-World Bank meeting in Bali in October.

“Many netizens asked me if Lagarde’s visit was to offer loans to Indonesia. I said no,” Sri Mulyani said in Jakarta on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com, adding that Lagarde was only visiting to monitor the progress of preparations for the IMF-World Bank Group Annual meeting.
During her stay in Jakarta, Largade also spoke at the 2018 High Level Conference Annual Meeting, met with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and visited a hospital and a market, accompanied by the President.

During the meeting with Lagarde, President Jokowi informed her about the country's progress in the economic sector.
Meanwhile, Lagarde praised the strong foundation of the Indonesian economy, but she stressed the importance of fiscal reform to boost economic growth.

She also stressed the importance of responsible government spending, not only in financing infrastructure projects, but also to improve welfare and strengthen the Indonesian position in exporting more value-added products. (bbn)

Mentri: Bandara di Pesisir Pantai Bali Utara Tidak Penting

Pemerintah pusat tidak akan memprioritaskan pembangunan bandara di pesisir pantai di Bali Utara seperti yang diusulkan oleh pemerintah daerah, dengan mengatakan bahwa proyek semacam itu tidak penting, menurut Menteri Perhubungan Budi Karya Sumadi.

Menteri Keuangan Sri Mulyani Indrawati mengatakan bahwa kunjungan direktur pengelola International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde ke Indonesia tidak untuk menawarkan pinjaman, namun untuk mempersiapkan pertemuan IMF - Bank Dunia di Bali pada bulan Oktober.

"Banyak warga bertanya kepada saya apakah kunjungan Lagarde adalah untuk menawarkan pinjaman ke Indonesia. According to Hartoyo (2010: 59) Computer-grade learning (CALL) learning that involves the use of computers) refers to learning that involves the use of computers, usually with an interactive computer system (hypertext / multimedia) system. The exitence of computer is very useful for people, one of them is the student. Because they can develop their knowlegde indirect with adding many new vocabulary in the other language.

There are many benefits of Computer – Assisted Language Learning (CALL) :

Flexibility
User can come at any time and spend as long as they need to get the full benefits of the material. They can use computer in everytime when they need. This reason make user easier to use computer as an assited language.

Motivate students
Computers have more capabilities than other media, which can encourage students in learning the language. Sussex, Cumming & Cropp (1994) argues that computer-based multimedia as a language tool, able to motivate students, is flexible and provocative because computers have the ability to present material in a way more diverse than books or videos.

Give individual attention
In this case a good program can offer individualized attention and can allow students to work with their own rhythm. Students can work with their privacy without fear of negative reprisals or jokes. If they learn slowly or if they give wrong answers. Direct diagnosis can save time and eliminate students' fatigue and be able to help them overcome their mistakes. Computers are also very consistent in response, tirelessly working long hours.

During this time the habit of reading is still a concern, CALL encourages users (students) to develop a nonsequential reading habit. This is a distinct advantage because we can quickly get information quickly and more. It also allows users to make their own decisions to develop selective and critical reading habits so that these habits make them able to scan information (topics that are based on their interests).

So, CALL make the user/student easier to transfer the source language into target language and student more understand to know about something in computer, student also can more get many knowlegde about vocabulary in other language. CALL can support the user/student to learn many languages. However, we have to use it properly.

Lambert The Sheepish Lion
One night a delivery stork was delivering a package. But he makes a mighty big mistake when he runs into a tree sleepily.
He opens the piece the bag he was carrying and out came many little lambs. “Go, pick anyone of them,” the stork says pointing towards the sheep, “which ever you pick, will be your mother”. And so the little labs run and choose and mother, all but one. The poor sheep sniffs and sits in a corner. You may also like to read, The Lion King.
The stork then realizes there has been a mistake as among the lambs was a lion cub. While the baffled stork check and re-check his papers, the lion runs off to the lamb sitting in the corner. The lion cub snuggles and becomes comfortable. And the sheep, too, is happy to have finally had a child. “Lambert?” the stork finds the lion cub’s name in his notebook. “Lambert is not a sheep, he is a lion. Let’s see, he is from south Africa. I shall take him away”. And so, the stork picked the cub away and told the sheep that Lambert had to be shipped back. But, the sheep did not allow so.
But, the sheep did not allow so. In the end, the stork flew away leaving Lambert in the sheep’s care. Next day, when the sun rose, all the little lambs were cleaned by their mothers before they ran off to play. And little Lambert couldn’t wait to join them. Soon enough Lambert’s mother let him go. But poor little Lambert felt out of place, he would, after all, he was a lion’s cub.
All the little lambs brayed and bleated, but poor Lambert, no matter how many times he tried, just couldn’t. All the other lambs laughed at him and said. “You don’t belong here. Your ears are too big and so are your feet, your tail is too long as well. You can’t bray or bleat”. The poor little lion cub tried every day without fail to be counted in. He even went head to head with a lamb, but he lost miserably while all the other lambs laughed when poor Lambert fell onto the ground. He tried and tried, but in the end, Lambert only got bullied and so he hid behind his mother.
Soon fall came, and as with time everything changes, these lambs grew up to be sheep making their mothers proud. And Lambert’s mother, in particular, was the proudest as Lambert was the biggest of them all. But him being big did not change anything for the other lambs. They still bullied the poor Lambert, who only gave them a sheepish grin.
Then one night, when all the sheep slept peacefully, a strange sound woke Lambert. Lambert saw a wolf and saw him howl with all his might. The wolf had found their flock and the wolf was going to eat them. Scared, Lambert hid behind his mother, which led her to be dragged away by the hungry wolf. “Lambert, Lambert” she brayed for help. But poor Lambert did not know what to do.
He looked around for help, but all the other sheep had run away. Lambert saw his mother run away from the wolf. The sheep ran as fast as she could, but soon she was cornered at the tip of the rock. The wolf was soon closing in on her, it only then when something inside of Lambert snapped. And he roared. He roared making the wolf shake, making the earth shake.
The wolf cowered behind the sheep, but Lambert did not stop. He roared and kept roaring, and then he pushed the wolf off the rock with the help of his head. And  Lambert’s mother’s pride could not be compared after that. Her son was a lion! All the sheep too changed their behavior after his display of bravery. And since the Lambert The Sheepish Lion lived happily with them.
